Sad to say, “Write Your Best Book Now!” contains hundreds of errors in grammar, punctuation, coherence, usage, formatting and other areas. It should have been professionally proofread, and more importantly, copyedited to find factual errors, inconsistencies, unclear passages and more. The bibliography lists writing and publishing books long out of date in this digital age. It also fails to give bibliographic data for important books mentioned in the text. Pages 40 and 41 are repeated on pages 80 and 81. Copyright information lists copyright duration in one place as the lifetime of the author plus 50 years, and again as lifetime plus 70 years. I was truly offended by someone offering advice on how to write a book letting this poorly-written book hit the market. Putting aside the numerous technical and substantial mistakes, does this book actually explain how to Write Your Best Book Now? Not really, the content is too vague. While the author lays out “Steps” to accomplishing certain tasks, these so-called steps are more like reminders with too many missing details. To her credit, the author does sound enthusiastic as to publishing profits the average person might attain. The book may succeed as a “pep talk”, but not as a model for the aspiring writer. I would urge the author to withdraw this edition and go for a new version with professional editorial and advisory assistance.
