The Kiteto Civil Society Organizations Forum (KCS Forum) is a registered coalition of Civil Society Organizations (CSO’s) that operates in Kiteto District, Manyara Region that have dedicated themselves to have undertaking various activities in lobbying and advocacy towards poverty eradication and sustainable human development. It draws its members from NGO's, CBO's, FBO's and trade Organizations/Unions who are operating in the District.
Being established in April 2001, the coalition has its main objective as policy advocacy and Good Governance for sustainable human development at the District, Regional and National level. It is a District based initiative, which aims at stimulating and sensitizing the participatory Public - Private Partnership. Our believe is that it will bring about community, Local Government and development actors cohesion and joint effort towards enabling poor people to participate fully in decision making processes, allocation and utilization of resources at community level so as to bringing about fare, equity and sustainable citizen development. As well the Forum targets at having good and participatory policy formulation processes, analysis of its relevancy at the community level as well as popularization of different policies and acts to the citizen. The aims here is to having relevancy policies in terms of its ground implementation as well as provide feedback and backstopping to policy makers for them to make required changes to the particular policy before ground practice/implementation.

All these processes involve people and their leadership structures and aims at attaining three conceptual pillars of MKUKUTA in order to achieve its ultimate goal. It is in that way that the Forum has been engaged itself in the process of monitoring the state and quality of basic social services provisions at the District level as well as how current resource allocation practice in the context of PRSP affects service delivery and poverty reduction. In addition, the Forum has got the responsibility of providing various information to its members, as well as building capacity of member Organizations in different areas in order to bring about effective and efficient interventions to the community.
Vision and Mission
Vision: The KCS Forum would wish to facilitate CSO’s in order to contribute towards “a community that receives high quality and sustainable social services and free from poverty within the framework of democratic Government and rule of law”
Mission: The mission of KCS Forum is “to strengthen networks and linkages among formal and informal institutions operating in Kiteto District that can foster and sustain the impact of development initiatives. This can be met through creating influence to public policies on the resources allocations in favour of the poor people (pro-poor budgeting) in order to promote strategies through which the full potential of all social groups are realized”. |
